Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks

You can navigate columns and rows on a spreadsheet using the arrow keys, the Enter key, and the Tab key. You can also automatically scroll through a spreadsheet using the AutoScroll tool.

You can also go directly to specific cells or data types using the Go To and Browse By features.

In addition, you can quickly navigate to the Objects sheet, and cycle through open notebooks.

Menu and dialog box options can be accessed using the keyboard. For a complete list of keyboard shortcuts, see “Using shortcut keys and startup switches.”


To cycle through open notebooks

On the application bar, click the button that displays the notebook’s name.

You can also move through open notebooks by pressing Shift + F6 to cycle forward or Ctrl + F6 to cycle backwards.
 
If the displayed notebook title begins with a directory path, you can click Tools Wordperfect Quattro Pro onestep Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks Settings Wordperfect Quattro Pro onestep Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks File options, and disable the Enable full path titles check box. This will allow you to display notebook titles without the full directory path.

To go to a specific cell in a notebook

Click Edit Wordperfect Quattro Pro onestep Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks Go to.

Type the cell address in the Reference box.
If the cell is on another spreadsheet, include the spreadsheet name in the address. For example, to move to cell Z36 on spreadsheet D, type D:Z36. If the cell is in another notebook, add the notebook prefix, for example, [Budget]D:Z36.

You can also
Go to a named cell
Choose the cell or group name from the Names box.
Go to a named spreadsheet in the current notebook
Choose the spreadsheet name from the Sheets box.
Go to the most recently edited cells
Choose a cell location from the Last edited box.
Go to a cell type
Choose a cell type from the Other box.

To browse to specific data in a notebook

Right-click the Browse By Wordperfect Quattro Pro pgx browseby Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks button in the lower-right corner of the spreadsheet.

Choose a data type.

To navigate a spreadsheet

Press the relevant key, as outlined in the table below.

Move down columns after entering data
Press Enter or the Down arrow.
Move up columns after entering data
Press the Up arrow.
Move across rows after entering data
Press the Left arrow or Right arrow.

The Enter key can be used to move the selector in a direction other than down. For more information, see “To set the selector to move when you press Enter.”

You can also move across rows by pressing Tab.

To automatically scroll through a spreadsheet

On the notebook toolbar, click AutoScroll Wordperfect Quattro Pro pgx central point Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks.
The cursor changes to the AutoScroll arrow.

Move the AutoScroll arrow in the direction you want to scroll.

The scrolling speed increases as you move the arrow farther away from the AutoScroll tool.
 
You can disable AutoScroll by clicking anywhere on the spreadsheet.

To go to the Objects sheet

Click the Quick tab Wordperfect Quattro Pro pgx btnsptab Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks button at the bottom left of the notebook window.

To return to the original spreadsheet, click the Quick tab Wordperfect Quattro Pro pgx btnstab2 Navigating spreadsheets and notebooks button again.

To access menu options by using the keyboard

Press and hold down Alt.

Type the underlined letter for the menu you want to open.

Use the arrow keys to move from menu to menu, and from option to option.

Press Enter to choose a highlighted option.

You can press the Esc key to return to the spreadsheet without making a menu selection.

To access dialog box options by using the keyboard
