Changing pie chart options
You can change the appearance of a pie chart by detaching a slice, or exploding the entire pie. You can also tilt a pie chart. In a pie of a pie chart, you can specify which slice of the pie chart links to a second pie chart. For more information about chart types, see “Presenting spreadsheet data in a chart.”
To detach a pie slice |
1.

Click a pie chart, and click a slice.
|
2.

|
Right-click the selected slice, and click Series properties.
|
3.
|
|
Click the Type options tab.
|
4.
|
|
In the Explode area, move the Detach slice slider.
|

|
If you want to detach all of the pie slices, move the Explode pie slider.

To change the tilt of a pie chart |
1.

|
Click a pie chart.
|
2.
|
|
Right-click the chart, and click Series properties.
|
3.
|
|
Click the Type options tab.
|
4.
|
|
In the Orientation area, move the Pie tilt slider.

Rotate the pie

Move the Pie rotation slider.

You cannot adjust the pie depth when the tilt option is set to zero.

To change the linked slice in a pie of a pie chart |
1.

Click a pie of a pie chart.
|
2.
|
|
Right-click the chart, and click Series properties.
|
3.
|
|
Click the Type options tab.
|
4.
|
|
In the Pie of a pie area, type a number in the Link to slice box.
